Arts Academy Performers To Stage Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr.

Posted on

The stage is always warmer when there are WHBPAC student performers! Join the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center’s Arts Academy Young Ensemble as they stage a production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. on April 29 and 30.

The group has been rehearsing since early March, when 30 local performers, ages 7 – 11, began learning their lines, choreography and blocking of each character. Director Valerie diLorenzo, Musical Director Kristen Poulakis, and Assistant Director Justin Harris have created a superb, family-friendly show that will entertain and delight all audiences. An adapted version of the original Disney movie, The Little Mermaid Jr. features some catchy new tunes added for the stage production.

Audiences of all ages will be captivated by the timeless story as Ariel pursues her dreams and struggles to defeat Ursula, the sea witch. The Young Ensemble performers bring to life the magical story, and promise to leave audience members cheering in their seats!

The performances are scheduled for Friday, April 29th at 7 pm and Saturday, April 30th at 2 pm and 7 pm. Tickets will go on sale April 6 and are available for purchase online, by telephone (631) 288-1500, or in person (Wednesday through Sun, 12-6 pm). Tickets are $15 each.
