It is a spring afternoon at the Dowd family home, and a tea for the high-society ladies of the Wednesday Forum is in full swing. The hostess, Veta Louise Simmons, is hoping that the event will allow her daughter, Myrtle Mae, now in her twenties and still unmarried, to mingle with the mothers and grandmothers of some of the town's remaining eligible bachelors. However, to Veta's horror, her brother, Elwood P. Dowd, arrives home unexpectedly and in the company of his closest friend, HARVEY the pooka (spirit creature of celctic folklore), a six foot one-and-a-half inch tall white rabbit—a friend nobody else can see...

Legendary Musical Theatre Composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber has created musicals that have soared to fame since his very first musical on Broadway, Joseph and the Amazing Color Dream Coat in 1967. Since then, he has written over 21 musicals with many that continue to wow Broadway’s stages today. Join WHBPAC Arts Academy students in a concert celebrating the best of the best of Broadway.

Students have spent months developing music and theatre skills in a fun, nurturing, and social environment while learning from professional, seasoned Teaching Artists. On Sunday, they will sing beloved classic songs using memories to create an amazing performance for family and friends on the WHBPAC stage.

Come see our littlest players; Mini Mozarts in the Jungle and Elementary School Theatre Troupe in the Jungle Book Kids for a show that’s sure to make your whole family dance in their seat!

Adventure through the musical jungle through story and song, the Little Players will perform traditional opera stories and added their own twists with visions of Disney's The Jungle Book!

About Jungle Book Kids
This jungle is jumpin' with a jazzy beat in Disney's The Jungle Book KIDS. Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, Disney's The Jungle Book KIDS features a host of colorful characters and your favorite songs from the movie.

Banished by the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan, a human boy named Mowgli and his panther friend, Bagheera, are on the run in the deepest parts of the jungle. On their journey, the two meet a sinister snake named Kaa, a herd of elephants and a giant bear named Baloo, who teaches them the swingin' musical rhythms of the jungle. After surviving a dangerous encounter with a band of monkeys led by King Louie, Mowgli and Bagheera are forced to run for their lives. When Shere Khan returns, our heroes must rally their fellow animals into battle and restore peace throughout the jungle.

Join Clara as her beloved Nutcracker Doll turns into a prince and takes her on a journey to an enchanted wonderland forest and into the Land of The Sweets, where she meets the Sugar Plum Fairy, and many more beloved characters. Capture the holiday spirit and watch this year’s Peconic Ballet Theatre’s production of “The Nutcracker.”

Come along and listen to the lullaby of Broadway! Performed by our teen theatre troupe, 42nd Street celebrates Broadway, Times Square and the magic of show biz with wit, humor and pizzazz. At the height of the Great Depression, aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer comes to the big city from Allentown PA, and soon lands her first big job in the ensemble of a glitzy new Broadway show. But just before opening night, the leading lady breaks her ankle. Will Peggy be able to step in and become a star? The score is chock-full of Broadway standards, including "You're Getting to Be a Habit with Me," "Dames," "We're in the Money," "Lullaby of Broadway," "Shuffle Off to Buffalo" and "Forty-Second Street."

This special adaptation, performed by our Middle School Theatre Troupe, of the nine-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, Fiddler on the Roof JR. follows Tevye the milkman as he tries to protect his daughters and his way of life from a changing world. Created by Broadway legends Jerome Robbins, Harold Prince, Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick and Joseph Stein, Fiddler on the Roof JR. tackles the universal theme of tradition in ways that reach across barriers of race, class, nationality, and religion.

Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor dairyman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to marry off his daughters and instill in them a sense of tradition in the face of growing anti-Semitism in Czarist Russia.

Side By Sondheim

Legendary Musical Theatre Composer, Stephen Sondheim has created musicals that have soared to fame since his very first musical on Broadway, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum in 1954 after writing the lyrics for West Side Story. Since then, he has written over 16 musicals with many that continue to wow Broadway’s stages today.

Join us in celebrating this legend with our Middle and Elementary School Theatre Troupes featuring our Little Players through scenes of Sondheim’s iconic musicals!

It’s Okay to Be Different cleverly delivers the important messages of acceptance, understanding, and self-confidence. Equally whimsical and heartfelt, The Earth Book, is a sweet homage to our beautiful planet inspiring readers of all ages to do their part to keep the Earth happy and healthy. This is My Hair is a funny exploration of how silly hair can be and that no matter how your hair looks, always feel good about yourself.

The Lightning Thief

Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school.  Again. And that’s the least of his troubles. Lately, mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy’s Greek mythology textbook and into his life.  Worse, he’s angered a few of them. Zeus’s master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now Percy has ten days to find and return Zeus’s stolen property and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus.  But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief. He must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

Cinderella

CINDERELLA, an original adaptation of the classic fairy tale. A pumpkin coach, Prince Charming, a glass slipper and a dream come true are woven together by the magic of a Fairy Godmother in this enchanting musical. When Cinderella’s stepsisters try to keep Cinderella from attending the ball, the Fairy Godmother enlists the help of the Mice and the Pumpkins and is able to transform Cinderella just in time for the big event. Also featured in the production are Cleo the Cat, Fido the Dog, the Lords and Ladies, the Town Criers, the King and the Beggars. Support our campers aged 6 - 14 in their performance of the week!

Beauty Lou and the Country Beast

BEAUTY LOU AND THE COUNTRY BEAST, an original country western adaptation of the classic fairy tale BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Beauty Lou is the oldest daughter of the bronc-bustin’ balladeer, Buck. At the local county fair, young Beauty Lou is upset by the ungrateful behavior of a miner who has won the blue ribbon for his beautiful roses. She calls him a beast and wishes that he would look like one too. Years later, when in danger of losing the family farm, Buck meets the miner-turned-beast. Beauty Lou agrees to befriend the Beast to save her family. Beauty Lou and the Beast both learn to look beyond appearances and first impressions to see the beauty that dwells inside. The story, set in the American West, also features Beauty Lou’s six sisters, her Imaginary Friend, her dog Fleabite Clyde, farmhands Slim and Dusty, the neighborly Country Folk and the Barnyard Critters. Support our campers aged 6 - 14 in their performance of the week!

Welcome to Ancient Greece, where the focus is on the big tournament! The Olympic Games are starting soon and the Cyclopes and Titans are both expecting to win big. But the tournament can’t start without Hercules! Will the legendary strongman of the Ancient World spark the flame and start the festivities on time, or will his legendary tardiness get in the way of the Games? Join us for a tale the scholars will talk about for ages as mythical creatures and Olympians alike share in a friendly competition. Along the way, we may just learn that true strength lies not in our muscles but in our character. Support our campers aged 6 - 14 in their performance of the week!

Now it's up to the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O'Malley, and his band of swingin' jazz cats to save the day.

Teen Theatre Troupe: Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella

Douglas Carter Beane’s adaptation of this well-loved classic invites us to build a better, kinder world together. When she meets a dragon-slaying young prince who is just assuming control of his government, Ella helps spark transformation and empower the disenfranchised in their kingdom. With the help of her fairy godmother, a pumpkin and a little magic and humor, Ella, Prince Topher and their generous friends will inspire and delight the whole family. Middle School Musical Theatre Troupe: Disney’s Newsies Jr.

Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!
